Nuclear Planner
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (On-site/Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Maintenance Planners to support a large-scale nuclear facility restart project. This role will play a part in planning, scoping, and scheduling maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & controls disciplines. The engagement is part of a multi-year restart initiative. Openings are available for both on-site work in Duane Arnold, IA and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed maintenance work packages, job plans, and task sequencing.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for mechanical, electrical, and I&C systems.
*Mechanical tasks include pump maintenance, minor valve work, oil and filter changes.*Electrical tasks include relay and instrument calibrations, breaker maintenance, and battery maintenance.*I&C tasks include circuit board swap-outs and transmitter replacements.
  • Scope work orders, estimate labor/materials, and identify required resources.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure work readiness.
  • Utilize Nuclear Asset Suite / Asset Suite tools to manage work planning activities.
  • Support outage and restart planning efforts.
  • Ensure work complies with nuclear, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide input to scheduling teams and support schedule execution as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of maintenance planning experience in a nuclear environment.
  • Experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or I&C planning.
  • At least one mechanical planner must have a welding background.
  • Strong experience with Nuclear Asset Suite 9.
  • Working knowledge of NAMS / Asset Suite.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday (for on-site roles) or independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting nuclear plant restarts or major maintenance initiatives.
  • Experience working with scheduling tools, with P6 exposure being a plus.
  • Familiarity with the processes or systems of the hiring organization.
