Job Summary

The Outage Director - Major Projects leads planning, integration, and execution of nuclear uprate projects across the Vistra Nuclear fleet. Using a major project management framework, this role governs the full uprate lifecycle from feasibility and licensing through construction and startup coordinating site leadership, engineering, supply chain, and contractors to deliver scope safely, on schedule, and within budget.
This position can be based at Perry, Davis-Besse or Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead fleet uprate project roadmap and integrate uprate scope into mega outage planning for safe, on-schedule delivery.
  • Apply major project methodology to govern mega outage scope from initiation through closeout.
  • Ability to lead and influence peers across the fleet to deliver safe outages on schedule and on budget.
  • Foster a culture of diverse perspectives to drive innovation, continuous improvement in uprate and mega outage execution.
  • Assess project and outage performance to identify cost efficiencies, schedule improvements, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain industry relationships that support information sharing and benchmarking.
  • Coordination with Site Directors, Site leadership, and Fleet leadership

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in nuclear plant operations, maintenance, work controls and outage.
  • Experience as site outage director required
  • Knowledge of reactor systems, turbine/balance-of-plant modifications, and integrated outage work scope required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • College technical degree, navy nuclear program, or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • SRO or SRO certification desired.
  • PMP preferred or able to attain in 1 year.
