Job description

Job Summary
General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world's leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.
We're looking for a hands-on Facilities Manager to take ownership of our facilities located in Eugene, Oregon. The ideal candidate has extensive experience operating and maintaining technical facilities, including labs, cleanrooms, and offices.
This onsite role is key in maintaining safe, clean, secure, and operationally effective workspaces by partnering with local leadership to proactively address business needs and proactively address emerging challenges.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility & Infrastructure Operations
  • Oversee comprehensive facility management including building infrastructure, specialized equipment, and systems
  • Lead space planning initiatives by analyzing occupancy and space utilization
  • Coordinate construction projects and facility improvements with project management and contractor staff
  • Performs small facilities management tasks as necessary
Project & Budget Management
  • Plan and coordinate day-to-day operations, budgets, and schedules
  • Review costs, productivity, and service delivery methods to maintain operational efficiency
Vendor & Contract Management
  • Establish and manage service contracts, ensuring vendors meet performance standards
  • Coordinate with landlords and tenants on shared building matters
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Procurement, EH&S, and other departments to align support services with operational needs
  • Communicate effectively across departments to balance operational requirements with quality standards, timelines, and compliance
Process Improvement & Documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize resource utilization
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and process workflows
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Ensure work is accomplished safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelors or Masters in business administration, finance or a related field and nine or more years of progressive project administration experience with at least three of the years in an engineering or scientific environment. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Strong leadership, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills are also required as well as the ability to interpret and explain unusually complex information.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate detailed and extensive expertise in facility management, building engineering, and workplace services.
  • Direct experience with construction/tenant improvement, equipment/facility integration required.
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Project required.
  • Experience utilizing SAP®, CMMS, Procore, Bluebeam, CAD, Revit is highly desirable.
  • Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required
  • May require the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
