Job Description RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Sr. Civil/Structural Design Engineer in Piketon, Ohio. This is a full-time, direct-hire, office-based assignment with our client.

In this role, you will lead the engineering development, analysis, and execution of facility modifications - bridging the gap between design concepts and field execution. You will ensure all structural steel, concrete systems, foundations, and equipment supports meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance from design through turnover. This is a meaningful, technically demanding role in a regulated environment where your engineering directly contributes to critical national energy infrastructure.

As a Sr. Civil/Structural Design Engineer, YOU Will: Lead civil/structural engineering for site modifications, performing complex analyses for static and dynamic loads - including wind, seismic, vibration, and thermal effects - to verify structural capacity for new and existing systems. Develop, review, and redline comprehensive design packages including drawings, specifications, and calculations for foundations, structural steel, and equipment anchorage, with a focus on buildability and reducing field rework risk.

Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and I&C teams to ensure seamless integration of equipment loads, penetrations, and layout constraints across disciplines. Support construction through field walkdowns, RFI/RFC resolution, and as-built updates, ensuring all work adheres to stringent configuration control and safety regulations. Develop detailed, code-compliant procurement packages - including ROMs and SOWs - for subcontracted fabrication and installation, and support technical bid evaluations.

YOU Are the Ideal Sr. Civil/Structural Design Engineer Candidate If You Have: A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET-accredited institution. 5+ years of experience in structural design, analysis, and field support - preferably within a regulated, industrial, or nuclear environment.

Strong working knowledge of AISC, ACI, and applicable seismic and building codes. The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance (required for this position). Experience developing design packages, performing field engineering support, and coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work within a highly regulated, configuration-controlled engineering environment. It's a BONUS If You Have: An active DOE "Q" clearance or Top Secret clearance - candidates with an active clearance will be prioritized. Prior experience in nuclear facility design, modification, or engineering support.

Experience with seismic analysis, dynamic load modeling, and vibration assessments for safety-critical structures. Familiarity with nuclear industry quality assurance standards such as NQA-1 or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
