We are seeking a Radiology Supervisor internally referred to as our Supervisor of Radiology Services . As the Radiology Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring it functions smoothly and efficiently while upholding the highest standards of patient care, safety, and diagnostic precision. As a key leader, the Radiology Supervisor will ensure the department delivers top-quality care and adheres to all regulatory and safety guidelines.
Mission Regional Medical Center is a 297-bed, non-profit hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient hospital services to the people of the Rio Grande Valley. Responsibilities
O versee radiologic technologists, ultrasound technicians, MRI technologists, CT Technologist (CT Tech), Nuclear Medicine Technologist and support staff, assist with recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
M anage the daily staff schedules of all modalities to ensure timely service for patients while optimizing staff productivity
E nsure that the necessary personnel, equipment, and supplies are available to meet the department’s needs
E nsure that the department adheres to regulatory requirements and standards set by bodies such as the Joint Commission, OSHA, or the American College of Radiology (ACR)
I mplement and monitor safety protocols, especially regarding radiation exposure, infection control, and equipment handling
O versee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of radiology equipment (e.g., X-ray machines, MRI, CT scanners), you may also help in selecting and purchasing new equipment as needed
S tay current with advancements in imaging technologies and may play a role in integrating new technologies and systems (like PACS, Picture Archiving and Communication Systems)
W ork closely with department radiology director to align departmental goals with the overall mission and objectives of the healthcare facility
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Associates Degree, Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology preferred.
Specialized training in any modality required.
Supervisory experience in all medical imaging functions.
Previous experience as a radiology technologist/Nuclear Medicine/Other modalities.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Current Basic Life Support /BCLS (AHA) certification.
Comprehensive Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory standards required.
