ELEMENTARY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Full Time; (37.5 hrs/week) Hourly; 11 month position (Aug-June)
HOURS WORKED: Mon-Fri. 7:45am - 4:00pm
SUPERVISOR: Principal
POSITION SUMMARY: To serve the School by providing administrative support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Primary greeter/front desk attendant for all visitors coming to Elementary.
  • Record and track absences, tardies and attendance of students
  • Make all deposits of money that is received in the elementary school (Fundraising, Missions, Extended Care Fees, Tee Shirt Sales, Joyland Ticket Sales, etc)
  • Help with distribution of reports cards.
  • Keep track and update current staff/teacher information such as “continued education units/credits” and/or certification information.
  • Track detentions served and who is serving in detention each day.
  • Receive and screen incoming lower school calls, taking clear messages and returning calls.
  • Schedule appointments for Principal and Vice Principal
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Order supplies for Lower School Offices and Teachers
  • Maintain up-to-date and well-organized files.
  • Keep accurate, up to date lists of class rosters and distribute them to required staff
  • Prepare and submit maintenance work orders for the lower school and coordinate with maintenance on these matters.
  • Schedule all Lower School Activities on Events U Program.
  • Coordinate with Principal, teachers and staff to prepare each year’s school supply lists.
  • Orders/organizes School Supply Kit ordering and School Planner ordering.
  • Answer and direct community inquiries regarding TCS.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Must be a member of and attend a local Church.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in secretarial/administrative tasks; Prefer experience with private schools and/or church. Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. High school diploma required. Some college preferred.
