Job description

E-Logic is seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to provide professional structural engineering support for the planning, design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of Government facilities. The selected candidate will perform structural analyses, develop engineering designs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects comply with applicable federal, military, and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent, timely, and professional structural engineering support for Government facility projects.
  • Perform structural calculations for environmental loads, seismic loads, wind loads, blast loads, and other applicable design criteria.
  • Analyze and design structural systems, including:
  • Vertical and lateral force-resisting systems
  • Foundations
  • Retaining walls and retaining structures
  • Utility support structures
  • Other structural components
  • Develop structural engineering designs for a broad range of shore-based facilities, including hospitals, administrative buildings, industrial facilities, aircraft hangars, waterfront structures, and other military infrastructure.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and design documents for technical accuracy and code compliance.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and technical conferences with Government representatives, project stakeholders, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper coordination and integration of structural systems with architectural and MEP designs.
  • Ensure structural designs comply with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON), NAVFAC, International Building Code (IBC), ASCE standards, and other applicable federal and industry standards.
  • Provide technical recommendations and engineering support throughout planning, design, construction, and project closeout.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience designing code-compliant facilities for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, structural analysis, and building design methodologies.
  • Experience designing structural systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, or military facilities.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing structural calculations, engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of applicable DoD, DON, NAVFAC, International Building Code (IBC), ASCE standards, and other structural design codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Location: Primary work location is NSA Naples (Capodichino), Italy (PSC 817 Box 51, FPO, AE 09622-0051). The position requires frequent Temporary Duty (TDY) travel to NSA Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain, including NSA 1, NSA 2, NSA 3, and Isa Air Base. TDY travel may consist of up to ten (10) trips, each lasting approximately ten (10) days, during each performance period. While performing work at NSA Bahrain, employees may be required to work in austere environments due to damaged facilities and must be capable of performing physical activities such as prolonged walking, standing, climbing, crouching, and bending. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy, NAVFAC, or other Department of Defense (DoD) construction and facility design programs.
  • Experience designing waterfront structures, aviation facilities, hospitals, or other complex military infrastructure.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary design teams and manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
