Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead capital projects from concept through closeout, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Serve as primary client contact, managing expectations and maintaining strong crossfunctional partnerships
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule changes with clear impact analysis and documented approvals
  • Partner with engineering firms to develop detailed, biddable designs, specifications, and construction documents
  • Lead construction execution, coordinating contractors and vendors for facilities, utilities, and equipment installation
  • Develop and manage internal and external resource plans to support project execution demands
  • Prepare funding requests, business cases, and financial justifications for new and expanded projects
  • Identify project risks proactively and implement effective mitigation and contingency plans
  • Report project performance, progress, and issues to site leadership and senior stakeholders
  • Drive operational excellence by capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Seven years of experience delivering capital projects in regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing FDAregulated and GMPcompliant projects within highly regulated facilities
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice systems
  • Experience with capital improvement projects, including process and production layout development
  • Proven capability managing construction projects for facility renovations and brownfield environments
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and multidiscipline construction drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong technical writing capabilities

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $108,500 and $201,500 annually

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
