Job description

Performs custodial duties in an indoor setting as assigned by the supervisor.


Primary duties and responsibilities unclude but not limited to:

  • Performs assigned tasks at cleaning sites including but not limited to carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing.
  • Assists in moving supplies and equipment as needed.
  •  Notifies supervisor of problems/difficulties in performing job duties.
  •  Monitors inventory of supplies and notifies team leader when the need for replenishment arises.
  • Notifies team leader if equipment is not working properly.
  • Performs additional related duties as requested by supervisor.

  • Must have at least six months prior porter cleaning experience or completion of ACCES –VR porter training program. 
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor; ability to understand instructions given by supervisor. 
  • Has some training in use of commercial cleaning equipment. 
  • Carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing experience required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Must have a qualified NYS driver’s license.
