Description

Summary:
A specialty Radiology Technologist role in partnership with physicians, clinical teams, and departmental leadership in caring for patients undergoing procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Lab. Population served based on scope of services in the department.
Responsibilities:
Procedural:
  1. Proficient in supporting physician and clinical teams during Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology procedures in preparing and supporting of all procedural supplies, instruments and intended procedures, as well as active participation in the care of the patient and their safety during procedures.
  2. Participates in quality initiatives and oversees all imaging and hemodynamic equipment and assures proper function. Performs quality checks per hospital policy and procedures. Troubleshoots malfunctions and collaborates with Lead Technologist and Biomed to correct.
  3. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of sterile/aseptic technique, including proper scrubbing and ensuring opening and handling of supplies is aseptically performed.
  4. At all times, utilizes supplies, equipment, and time in the most cost-effective manner by having proper equipment and supplies ready for the procedures, including ensuring proper par levels are maintained for safe access. Supports supply coordinators in receiving, stocking, and expiration processes.
  5. Participates in environment of care initiatives to ensure patients are safe and environment/processes are adhered to as guided by policies, and regulatory agencies.
  6. Engaged in quality and efficiency initiatives to ensure safe, effective, and consistent patient throughput.
  7. Exhibits knowledge of location, care, and use of all equipment and supplies.
  8. Ensures appropriate cleaning of all reusable instruments and equipment.
  9. Communicates and initiates Biomed and Maintenance requestions, as needed, with leadership.
  10. Sets up correctly all necessary IV and contrast solutions, as required.
  11. Maintains and Models Nuvance Health values.
  12. Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  13. Performs other duties as required.
