Position Summary

Northern Technologies Group (NTG) provides full-spectrum IT services for USCENTCOM, including enterprise networking, server infrastructure, AV, and mission-critical communications. We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer (CCIE) to lead Tier 4 support operations and serve as the senior technical expert for networking across the O&M and Engineering teams.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead Tier 4 network engineer across all enterprise operations and engineering initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex Cisco-based environments across CONUS/OCONUS locations.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization projects, including hardware refreshes and new tech rollouts.
  • Validate, integrate, and support emerging technologies in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for critical outages and emergency operations.
  • Develop and maintain virtual lab environments (e.g., EVE-NG, Cisco CML) for testing and training.
  • Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers across O&M teams.
  • Maintain documentation and support compliance, configuration, and change control standards.
  • Leverage and maintain the following technical components:

Hardware:

  • Cisco ISR 4K/8300/8500 Routers, ASR 1K/8500 Series
  • Catalyst 9200/9300/9400 Switches, Nexus, ACI, DFCI
  • Cisco ASA and FTD Firewalls
  • Legacy: 3650/3850 Series (in phase-out)

Technologies:

  • Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
  • VPN Solutions: DMVPN, Site-to-Site VPNs, CSfC
  • Network Architectures: VRF, MPLS, Black Core, Mobile Kits

Tools & Software:

  • Network Simulation: Cisco CML, EVE-NG
  • Network Management & Monitoring: Enterprise-grade tools
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active and current Secret federal security clearance; Must be able to obtain and maintain and active Top Secret/ SCI federal security clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years in enterprise network engineering, including 3+ years in a senior or lead role.
  • Active Cisco CCIE certification (required)
  • Deep expertise in routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and Cisco enterprise systems
  • Experience with data center networking (ACI, MPLS, segmentation)
  • Proficiency with network emulation tools (CML, EVE-NG)
  • Excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active and current Top Secret/SCI federal security clearance.
