Summary:

The Radiographer performs radiologic and CT examinations in accordance with all state/federal safety regulations. The Radiographer is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply prescribed amount of radiation for the purpose of obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by the radiologist.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, and CT scanning utilizing equipment in accordance with department protocols.
  • Prepares and administers contrast per department protocols/radiologist guidance.
  • Proficient in PACS functions and able to assist others as needed.
  • Prepares and educates patients to procedures.
  • Maintains equipment in good working condition, operating equipment in accordance with department and manufacturer recommendation, reporting any equipment issues to proper teams for resolution.
  • Perform phone/clerical/office duties as necessary within the department.
  • Ensures proper order is in place for patient imaging and obtains correct order when changes are required.

Other Information:

  • ARRT certification required, willing to cross train in CT.
  • State of Maine radiology license required.
  • Certificate in Radiology acceptable for a candidate with ARRT credentials and State of Maine Radiology license.
