Unlimited, Full-time

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday)

*A flexible work schedule may be approved with up to two days remote work per week (if applicable)

Salary Range: Annually from $98,457.00 to $157,531.00

*Salary placement is dependent on education and experience

The Associate Vice President of Finance provides strategic leadership in financial planning, analysis, and operations to support institutional decision-making and ensure sound financial stewardship. This position leads the development and coordination of the College’s comprehensive budget process and ensures compliance with Minn State policies and procedures related to financial and operational matters.

This role provides leadership and oversight of a broad portfolio of financial and operational services, including accounting (including grant accounting), accounts payable, financial reporting, contracts, purchasing, employee reimbursements, and risk management.

As a senior leader, the Associate Vice President fosters a service-centered approach across administrative operations, advancing efforts to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the user experience. The position is responsible for leading and developing staff, building engaged and accountable teams that deliver high‑quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

The Associate Vice President exercises significant discretion in policy development, interpretation, implementation, and compliance, and partners across the institution to strengthen operational effectiveness, build trust, and advance the College’s mission through collaborative, transparent, and service‑oriented leadership.

This position will actively advance the college’s strategic goals, including to achieve equity in educational outcomes and to support a culturally responsive and service‑oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.

Minimum:
  • At least five (5) years of experience in financial and budget management, accounting, finance, and or business administration; a Bachelor's degree substitutes for 12 months of experience; and an Associate's degree substitutes for 6 months of experience.
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in higher education or non-profit.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience supervising staff.
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Seven (7) years of experience in financial and budget management in higher education.
  • Four (4) years of experience supervising staff.
