Summary:
Provides strategic leadership for laboratory operations across assigned regional laboratories, both directly and through managers and supervisors, including oversight of human resources activities. Oversees laboratory leaders and reviews hiring, performance management, and disciplinary recommendations as appropriate. Leads and drives performance across regional sites-Franklin Hospital in Farmington, Maine; Stephens Hospital in Norway, Maine; and Memorial Hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire-by establishing departmental and individual goals aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. Maintains accountability for full regulatory compliance, including staff training and competency assessments throughout the region. Reviews and approves regional budget requests and proposals.
This position requires weekly travel to each location within the region.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree required. Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science degree preferred. Master's Degree preferred. (Industry experience will be considered in addition to education.)
  2. License/Certifications: Certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or as a Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, MB, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) preferred.
  3. Experience: 3 years leadership experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.
