Job description

 As a member of the Oak Creek Operations team, you will be responsible for performing troubleshooting sequences to identify non-conformance with assembly expectations of our highly engineered machines and communicate necessary repairs both verbally and in written reports.  
You will support our production team and customers by making sure of machines function properly before being released to the customer for final delivery.
  • Safely performs functional testing of all NORDCO track maintenance of way equipment using approved test procedures.
  • Audits assembly to design for internal and external specifications.
  • Performs troubleshooting on issues found during the testing process.
  • Communicates completion of final testing of production and prototype machines.
  • Works with engineering, production, and / or R&D on problems with the machine build process or machine testing prior to shipment.
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of test procedures.
  • Completes reports on machine testing and defects and provides feedback to Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain.

Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.  Training on heavy equipment and measurement tools, including flow meters, pressure gauges and voltage meters.
  • Minimum of 5 years of troubleshooting or related experience with heavy equipment. 
  • General mechanical skills. Must be proficient working with hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic controlled circuits including PLC and CAN-bus systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, suppliers and other NORDCO employees.
  • Supports Nordco’s continuous improvement efforts
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents, technical procedures, governmental regulations and professional journals. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to dust, oil, grease, fumes or airborne particles. 
  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times and may require the use of hearing protection. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to handle or lift objects up to 50 pounds, use tools or controls and communicate with other employees. 
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, climb, walk unassisted, bend, sit and reach with hands and arms.

The salary rate for this role is currently $25-$35 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
