Tax Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
A growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and manage multiple tax engagements, ensuring the delivery of quality tax services to firm clients. The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in tax matters in a public accounting setting. This position offers great opportunities for advancement, including partnership opportunities for the right individual.
Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review federal and state income taxes for firm clients, to include: individuals, partnerships, businesses, and exempt organizations.
  • Work closely with the audit engagement team and client personnel to address complex tax and accounting issues.
  • Build new and existing client relationships by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of client businesses and subject matter expertise in their accounting and tax needs.
  • Conduct an extensive tax research
  • Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents.
  • Manage multiple client workloads, including budget and production goals.
  • Participate in the management of tax department work flow and staffing matters.
  • Train and mentor other tax staff and conduct regular reviews of work product.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Master's Degree in Taxation or pursuing such a degree preferred.
  • CPA Certification.
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience, preferrably servicing non-profit clients
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Forms 990, 5500.
  • Proficiency in paperless tax software (preferably ProSystem fx Tax) and CCH Engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
