Job Scope

Manager, DSD Logistics provides overall leadership and Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for their Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operation. Manager, DSD Logistics is responsible for partnering with customer teams, retail teams, and logistics support teams to execute strategies through the development of local plans and tactics across multiple product lines and categories. Responsible for managing branch resources, assets, and providing supply chain support to local customers and branch business units. Support end-to-end logistics, including but not limited to all warehouse and delivery operations. Including areas of service, cost, health, safety, quality, food defense, sustainability, legal requirements, and policy compliance. Implementation of a logistics strategy and effectively execute operations while balancing service and cost. Drive process improvement and efficiency using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies. Understanding of SAP with the integration between EWM and ECC/S/4HANA

Overall Responsibility: Strategic Leadership & P&L Management

This role is responsible for developing and executing local strategies to achieve financial targets, optimize efficiency, and ensure profitability, all while leading and managing profit and loss (P&L).

Core Responsibilities:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with sales, retail, and logistics teams to implement strategies and resolve challenges.
  • Team Leadership & Development:Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team including supervisors, associates, and hourly employees.
  • Operational Excellence:Oversee all aspects of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) logistics (warehouse, delivery, transportation), ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Supply Chain Management:Manage branch resources, provide supply chain support to customers, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and best practices, and mitigate risks.
  • Strategy Implementation & Execution:Implement logistics strategy, balancing service and cost while collaborating with partners.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & Associated Responsibilities:

The role drives performance across four key categories:

(a) Safety

  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Enforce plans to reduce incident/accident rates and ensure successful quality inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety, quality, food defense, and legal requirements.

(b) Service

  • Meet or exceed customer expectations through reliable and timely delivery.
  • Develop branch relationships with retail and cross-functional departments.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement programs to reduce cost, carbon footprint, and improve service performance.

(c) Savings

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure direct reports complete payroll approvals (INFOR) in a timely manner.
  • Challenge and develop the financial acumen of direct report salaried teams.
    • Delivery Focus:Coach supervisors on reviewing transportation costs/delivery times (routing), budgeting (labor), project execution, and negotiating with sales.
    • Warehouse Focus:Coach supervisors on reviewing cost-saving technology use, budgeting (labor), project execution, waste management, and inventory.

(d) People

  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment that attracts, retains, and develops top talent.
  • Assist and support salaried team members in managing local hourly employees (Union and Non-Union), including coaching, developing, and disciplining.
  • Develop relationships with local labor unions (where applicable).

Minimum Education / Experience Required
  • Education:Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of combined Warehouse/Delivery Logistics experience.
    • 2+ years of People Manager experience.

Salary and Benefits:The base salary range for this position is $122,000 to $167,750; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results. In addition, Mondelez International offers the following benefits: health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education related programs, paid holidays and vacation time.
