Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team at Family Wellness and Mental Health Hub. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to evaluate the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms.
• Collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans that align with clients’ unique needs and goals, ensuring culturally sensitive practices.
• Utilize evidenced-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate client growth.
• Provide education and support to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care practices.
• Continuously monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, employing a compassionate and flexible approach.
• Collaborate efficiently with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for clients.
• Stay informed of current research and best practices in mood disorder treatment, integrating this knowledge into your therapeutic methods.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in regular case consultations, participate in team meetings, and seize opportunities for professional development.
• Act as an advocate for clients, addressing mental health stigma and ensuring their voices are heard and needs met.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will directly impact individuals struggling with mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will serve a varied clientele, including those from marginalized backgrounds, such as the homeless, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse. The role will challenge you to consider their distinct stories and experiences, enabling you to provide empathetic and personalized care.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
• Demonstrated capacity to cultivate a secure and trusting therapeutic alliance with clients, showcasing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• An empathetic, non-judgmental attitude towards clients’ experiences and struggles is crucial.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities are important for managing caseloads and administrative duties efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with diverse populations and understanding the unique challenges faced by clients from various cultural backgrounds.
• Familiarity with treatment modalities for addiction and trauma-informed care approaches.
• Previous experience in a community health setting or with clients experiencing mood disorders is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
