Job Overview:

The Director will oversee, organize, and manage daily infection control operations for both inpatient and outpatient settings, catering to patients of all ages. Collaboration with other technical and professional staff is essential for sharing insights and addressing interdisciplinary challenges. Responsibilities include preparing reports and statistics in line with regulatory standards, system directives, and on an ad hoc basis. The role also involves facilitating the Infection Control Committee, maintaining relevant statistical data, and serving as a resource for individuals, department heads, and committees. The Director will identify educational needs related to Infection Control and implement necessary programs, while ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards. Additionally, the Director is responsible for reporting safety concerns such as hazardous environments and medical errors, ensuring that the unit adheres to all applicable policies, laws, and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Leadership experience is essential.
  • One to three years of experience in Infection Control.
  • Certification in Infection Control is mandatory.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure with the New Jersey Board of Nursing is required.

Essential Functions:
  • Exhibit professional behavior in accordance with ethical standards.
  • Regularly develop statistical reports as requested and create plans to ensure safety during construction projects. Collaborate with relevant parties to conduct Infection Control Risk Assessments for planned or urgent construction activities.
  • Conduct daily surveillance of patient or staff situations that may lead to infections and take steps to mitigate risks.
  • Set annual goals and objectives while evaluating the Infection Control Program.
  • Identify both individual and general educational needs, providing in-service training to address these needs. Support and participate in the activities of the Infection Control Committee.
