Job description

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.


The Labor Compliance Specialist supports the administration and execution of labor compliance programs for public works, prevailing wage, and federally funded construction projects. This position is responsible for monitoring labor compliance requirements, maintaining accurate project records, supporting certified payroll compliance, researching prevailing wage regulations, and assisting project teams with compliance-related issues. The Labor Compliance Specialist works closely with Project Managers, Payroll, Human Resources, field personnel, subcontractors, and external agencies to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local labor regulations.


• Assist with the administration and monitoring of labor compliance requirements for public works, prevailing wage, and federal construction projects.
• Review certified payroll records for accuracy and compliance with applicable prevailing wage laws and regulations.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of labor compliance documentation and project records.
• Coordinate compliance requirements for construction projects, including project setup and maintenance within compliance tracking systems.
• Attach applicable projects to state labor compliance reporting systems, including Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) websites and other agency portals.
• Research prevailing wage determinations, work classifications, apprentice requirements, and labor compliance regulations.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining project classification sheets and wage determinations for federal and prevailing wage projects.
• Monitor apprenticeship utilization requirements and identify potential compliance concerns.
• Communicate with Project Managers, Administrators, Payroll, and field personnel regarding labor compliance issues, payroll discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Review fringe benefit information and assist with maintaining fringe benefit calculations for union and non-union employees.
• Verify contractor, customer, and project information as required by applicable labor compliance regulations.
• Support Skilled and Trained Workforce compliance verification efforts for applicable projects.
• Participate in project pre-construction or pre-job meetings as requested and assist with documenting compliance requirements.
• Complete required contractor, owner, or agency compliance trainings and maintain training records.
• Assist with wage restitution calculations, payroll adjustments, and final payroll reviews on certified projects when necessary.
• Maintain electronic and paper records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Research and resolve labor compliance issues while escalating complex matters as appropriate.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.


• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of labor compliance, certified payroll, payroll administration, construction administration, or related experience.
• Experience supporting prevailing wage or public works projects preferred.
• Experience with Davis-Bacon Act requirements and federal projects preferred.
