Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for insuring the integrity and safe working condition of all shop and billboard mounted electrical components/systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Installation and repair of wiring and conduit within the scope of the NEC (National Electrical Code)
  • Repair and maintenance of electrical fixtures and control equipment. (Time Clock)
  • Able to set and program time clocks.
  • Planning for new or modified installations to minimize waste of material, provide access for future maintenance, lock all disconnects when leaving sign.
  • Install equipment such as lighting fixtures, relays, ballast, breakers disconnects circuit breakers and fuses. Fasten in place with screws or bolts.
  • Use the lock out tag out method.
  • Identify and promptly report any unsafe conditions observed.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT:
Climbing and working at elevated heights in different weather and heat conditions sitting, walking, standing, speaking, hearing, reading, kneeling, lifting, carrying a minimum of 50 lbs., multiple concurrent tasks, frequent interruptions, verbal and written communication, detailed work and confidentiality.
EQUIPMENT USED:
  • Safety harness with lanyard and other personal protective equipment, various ladders, a multi-meter to determine voltage, power tools and hand tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have 2 years minimum electrical experience
  • Ability without fearing to climb and work safely at elevated heights, 60ft or more.
  • Read blueprints and schematic.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems.
  • Should be a licensed electrician or be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to meet the definition of a qualified person in a sign/billboard work environment.
  • Must have experience working with voltages from 120 to 240 single and three phase.
