JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Manager is accountable to provide leadership and direction across the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project, supporting regulatory, engineering, project delivery, and construction activities within a complex, multidisciplinary portfolio of work across the full project lifecycle. As a member of SaskPower's management team, this position is responsible for the effective utilization and integration of people, material, financial resources and human capital to manage, coordinate and lead SMR project activities in alignment with departmental and corporate strategic goals and objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

ย Manage the scope, schedule cost, contracts and relationships between stakeholders of all assigned projects according to project specifications
ย Manage the project team and oversee integration, communications, quality, risk and procurement integration and strategies
ย Report on trends, variances and provide leadership to take corrective action when project(s) deviate from original plans and objectives
ย Manage project work load(s) by delegating responsibilities and authority to task managers and project team members
ย Prepare and submit project budget estimates and tender evaluations in alignment with departmental strategic plans and forecasting initiatives
ย Plan and prepare project schedules and milestones while monitoring progress against established schedules
ย Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
ย Develop and implement appropriate quality, change management and communication strategies
ย Anticipate, assess and manage project risks during execution
ย Assess, develop and implement new technologies, standards, processes and methodologies
ย Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure necessary and qualified personnel are assigned to projects
ย Represent SaskPower on matters both internal and external to the corporation
ย Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients, senior management and executive staff
Ensure project plans and tasks are implemented in accordance with applicable technical, environmental and safety regulations, management system requirements, policies and procedures, and expected leadership nuclear behaviours.
ย Provide and demonstrate leadership, team building and direction to project personnel including SaskPower and Contractor employees
ย Other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

ย Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a related field AND/OR;
ย Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) (PMP, Prince2)
7 - 10 years of related experience
Nuclear, engineering and construction experience considered an asset, including familiarity with nuclear regulatory frameworks, quality programs, technical deliverables, construction planning and safety culture expectations
ย Ability to strategize, plan and organize
ย Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
ย Results oriented thinker, with the ability to influence and manage complex and confidential projects/issues with sensitivity and professionalism
ย Ability to meet deadlines and deal with quick turnarounds
ย Ability to manage tasks and direction effectively
ย Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
ย Strong team leader with the ability to influence the performance of others
