The Enterprise Architecture team is an exciting team with the mandate to design, develop, govern and drive the global technology strategy for the Bank.This role will work closely with a Senior Principal Architect (Director) as a single contributor and additionally will have a great deal of exposure to senior executives, business line leaders and a diverse set of stakeholders to assess current capabilities, identify opportunities and design future state operating model, capabilities, and implementation roadmaps. The Architect will also assist in leading the execution of key technology initiatives working with teams across technology to ensure that the strategy becomes reality.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Define Strategy:

  • Work with technology teams to understand current state gaps, future state capabilities needed and industry landscape.
  • Develop and refine IT reference architectures that provide domains with a 3-5 year vision and target state. 
  • Lead the prioritization and development of implementation roadmaps to address gaps and ensure solutions are in line with enterprise vision.

Architecture Leadership:

  • Lead one or more large scale technology initiatives from inception to execution working with technology teams across the Bank.
  • Provide technical leadership for application rationalization and legacy technology modernization initiatives.
  • Lead streams within a project or a project workstream, including leading problem-solving sessions, workshops and interviews with cross-functional and business line working team members and subject matter experts.
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with others within the team and with other teams across the Bank to ensure effective delivery of projects.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Present and communicate with our CTO, engineering heads and other senior leaders on an ongoing basis to gather feedback, report progress and solve issues.
  • Work closely with technical teams and SMEs to ensure technology initiatives are delivered on time, within budget forecasts and deliver value identified at inception.
  • Work closely with non-technology teams including business lines, HR, Finance and Risk to ensure technology initiatives are meeting business needs and are integrated within the bank effectively.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Deep background in Technology delivery is a must (e.g., different programing languages, agile work, cloud computing, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting or corporate strategy or technology delivery/architecture leadership is a must.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment. 
  • Superior interpersonal skills, leadership, and influential capabilities 
  • Self-motivated; work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and member. 
  • Good knowledge of the specific technology challenges relevant to Banking industry with a sound understanding of current banking business trends and their implications for technology. 
  • Superior planning and analytical skills, ability to discern research information / data and focus on the critical business issues. 
  • Superior presentation and written communication skills 
  • Undergraduate degree in business or engineering; graduate business degree/MBA is a strong asset. 
  • Excellent knowledge with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint  
  • Ability to architect end-to-end solutions involving ServiceNow product and services is an asset.
  • Experienced with integrating ServiceNow with back office systems using IntegrationHub an asset.
  • Experience with automated discovery and refresh of metadata in CMDB, and other modules. 
  • ServiceNow Master/Technical Architect certification (bonus).
