Perinatal Center Non-Stress Testing Registered Nurse

The Perinatal Center Non-Stress Testing Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and care of pregnant patients undergoing fetal surveillance in the form of non-stress testing. This nurse collaborates with the obstetric care team to ensure safe, high-quality care while maintaining a calm and supportive environment for expectant mothers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret Non-Stress Tests (NST) to evaluate fetal well-being.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, documenting findings accurately and timely.
  • Assess fetal movement, heart rate patterns, and uterine activity, escalating abnormal findings to the provider.
  • Educate patients and families on NST procedures and results.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot fetal monitoring equipment.
  • Assist with additional antepartum testing or care as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during testing.
  • Document all care provided in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • One (1) or more years Registered Nurse job related experience required.
  • Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Labor/Delivery experience preferred.
  • ACLS Certification required for all the following areas. New Graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment:
    • All Critical Care
    • Emergency Care Center (ECC)
    • GI/Cath Laboratory
    • Labor & Delivery
    • All Intermediate Care
    • Post Acute Care Unit (PACU)
