Western Infectious Disease Consultants (WIDC) is a physician-owned infectious disease practice providing specialized infusion and antimicrobial therapy services throughout the Denver metro area. We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our growing Infusion Services team and support patient care across our Lakewood and Broomfield infusion centers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside infectious disease physicians, registered nurses, and clinical staff in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Position Overview
The Pharmacy Technician will play a critical role in preparing, coordinating, and managing medications used in outpatient infusion therapy, including intravenous medications, biologics, vaccines, and long-term antimicrobial treatments. This position supports sterile compounding, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and daily infusion center operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, label, and coordinate IV medications, biologics, vaccines, and antimicrobial therapies.
  • Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding in accordance with USP <797>, USP <800>, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain medication inventory, expiration tracking, and storage compliance.
  • Coordinate medication ordering and vendor relationships to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
  • Assist with benefit verification and medication authorization processes.
  • Complete compounding logs, temperature logs, inventory records, and medication documentation.
  • Collaborate with nursing, providers, revenue cycle management, and administrative teams.
  • Participate in quality assurance, audits, process improvement initiatives, and staff training.
  • Support daily infusion clinic operations, including stocking supplies and medication preparation.
  • Work across both Lakewood and Broomfield infusion centers based on operational needs.
Qualifications
Required
  • Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Sterile compounding and infusion pharmacy experience.
  • Experience in outpatient infusion, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings.
  • Knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
  • Sterile compounding certification or advanced IV training.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with HomeCare Pharmacy.
  • Spanish bilingual skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle medication supplies, stocking, and inventory tasks.
