Job Summary:

The Purchaser is responsible for receiving, logging, storing and disbursing all incoming inventory and keeping the warehouse clean and organized at all times.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

  • Receive, review, and approve all incoming invoices and daily deliveries, including food, beverages, and merchandise.
  • Accurately log all received items-perishable and non-perishable-into the receiving log each day.
  • Unpack and inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality, and any signs of damage or spoilage.
  • Label, price, and sort items for prompt distribution to the correct departments.
  • Distribute d, beverage, and retail items to designated storage or display areas.
  • Store excess inventory in an organized, food-safe manner for future use or sale.
  • Verify deliveries against invoices and document any discrepancies.
  • Track on-hand inventory and maintain accurate Back stock and records, ensuring cost is updated in inventory
  • Rotate and restock perishable and non-perishable goods daily, ensuring FIFO practices are followed.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience with general cleaning supplies.
  • Six months prior warehouse, shipping and/or receiving work experience, preferred.
  • Prior work experience using a computer.
  • Good computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and Internet.
  • Familiarity or knowledge of UPS Worldship and FedEx Ship Manager preferred.
  • Accurate and proficient typing and 10-key by touch skills.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, customer service and time-management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team and to work with employees and vendors at all levels.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with employees at all levels and external contacts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of proper use of cleaning supplies and proper cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to keep and maintain organized records and filing systems.
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Climb stairs and walk/move on a variety of surfaces including tiled, carpeted, concrete, unpaved, uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces.
  • Balance/stabilize, stand/remain upright and walk on uneven and moving surfaces (marina docks and boats on water).
  • Walk/move around within buildings and property.
  • Stand/remain upright, walk frequently during entire shift up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Sit/remain seated for up to 2 hours at a time working on a PC using a keyboard, mouse, multi-line phone and 10-key calculator.
  • Bend, kneel, stoop and/or squat repetitively.
  • Turn and twist repetitively.
  • Reach down, forward and overhead.
  • Use and operate general office equipment including a computer, mouse, multi-line telephone, fax and copy machines, calculators and credit card machine.
  • Dexterity skills to handle large and small objects.
  • Push/pull/move and lift small and large objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to use general cleaning supplies.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record to drive a shuttle van and/or golf cart, as needed.
  • Drive/operate a shuttle van and/or golf cart outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat, cold and stormy conditions to move from building to building on property, when needed.
