SUMMARY
Summary
Bates Technical College is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist to lead and teach in the new Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program, launching Fall 2025. This faculty leader will be responsible for designing and delivering curriculum, setting up labs and facilities, securing clinical partnerships, guiding the program through initial accreditation, and serving as a visible advocate for this high demand but often underrecognized allied health field. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in invasive cardiovascular procedures, a collaborative spirit, and a strong commitment to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. This role requires close coordination with healthcare partners to provide students with rigorous, hands-on training and clinical experience. As the program's lead faculty, the successful candidate will play a vital role in raising awareness of cardiovascular technology as a career path, guiding the program through accreditation with CAAHEP and JRC-CVT, and ensuring students are well-prepared for licensure and employment in this critical area of patient care.
This is a Tenure-Track, full-time faculty position beginning September 22, 2025 (Fall Quarter 2025). This is a 214 day/ 7 hour per day position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & OTHER DUTIES
Essential Functions
- Teach assigned courses and provide high-quality instruction using a variety of delivery methods, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences, integrating industry best practices in invasive cardiovascular procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, patient care, and more.
- Design engaging, real-world assignments that reinforce learning outcomes and prepare students for professional practice.
- Document and maintain records of demonstrated student competencies to ensure eligibility for professional certification and licensure.
- Guide students in understanding cardiovascular anatomy, procedural protocols, radiation safety, regulatory compliance, and ethical considerations in invasive cardiovascular technology.
- Collaborate with healthcare partners and the program medical director to align the curriculum with workforce needs and secure clinical placements in hospitals, catheterization labs, and other cardiovascular care settings.
- Act as an advocate for the invasive cardiovascular technology field, promoting career pathways and building awareness of this high-demand profession.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement to ensure courses reflect evolving industry standards, accreditation requirements, and advancements in cardiovascular technology.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, students, and clinical partners.
- Coordinate and orient other program faculty members, preceptors, and all other instructional and support staff in the academic and clinical phases of the program
- Provide students with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through well-structured syllabi and course materials.
- Support student recruitment, retention, completion, and career readiness through effective instruction and mentorship.
- Respond to student questions on a timely basis.
- Provide individual and small group instruction to students in a classroom setting, utilizing available technology.
- Ensure that individual, lab, and small group instruction is based on the best available education practices, meet standards for content, and is relevant to students' career goals.
- Maintain student and curriculum records i.e. student progress and attendance, instructional syllabi, course curriculum and plans, and grades.
- Ensure students are prepared for and can obtain relevant industry credentials and certifications.
- Deliver classroom management to maintain a suitable learning environment by responding appropriately to student conduct/problems and aid in solving them in accordance with college procedures.
- In collaboration with the Dean and VPI, provide administrative supervision and organization for the program, including budget management which includes requisition and maintenance control of, and safeguard inventories of equipment and supplies assigned to the program.
- Actively contribute to and participate in college-wide activities in support of regional accreditation and state and federal requirements.
- Support college student achievement practices to ensure student retention, completion, and progression.
- Participate actively and collaboratively with College Student Services and program advisory committees to support access to employment opportunities for students, and maintain student job placement records.
- Accountable for keeping personal development up-to-date; adding to skills and knowledge through courses that may be available through the Bates Technical College courses, professional development committees, etc.
- Participate actively and collaboratively on committees for college as needed including but not limited to staff recruitment, college councils, etc.
- Additional activities, duties and responsibilities may be added with or without notice to meet college needs.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology credential, or similar
- Bachelor's degree from an US recognized accredited institution
- Active RCIS Certification, or the ability to obtain before employment begins.
- At least two years' experience in cardiovascular health care; and
- Documented education or experience in instructional methodology.
If necessary, alternative combinations of education and experience may be evaluated by Human Resources for comparability.

Employee and employer contributions to applicable retirement plans are mandatory. The amount of the deduction and contribution are dependent upon the retirement plan chosen and may vary by current contribution rates in effect.
Bates provides $35,000 basic life insurance for death from any cause and $5,000 basic accidental death and dismemberment at no cost to the employee. Employees can enroll in additional low cost life insurance for themselves and dependents.
Bates provides a basic LTD insurance plan at no cost to employees. The basic plan pays a maximum of
$240 per month after 90 days of total disability. The optional LTD plan pays 60% of the first $10,000 of monthly salary, reduced by any deductible income such as social security or retirement benefits.
Employee cost is dependent upon benefit waiting period chosen.

Eligible exempt and classified employees accrue annual leave at rates determined by their employee status, ranging from 7 to 16 hours per month when eligible.
