The Institute for Global Studies and associated research centers and academic programs occasionally hire part-time employees to provide administrative, communications, and events support, as assigned and in consultation with center directors and program coordinators. These are part-time positions (Casual Nonexempt, Job Code 0005) working no more than 14 hours per calendar week as assigned by the supervisor.
Students enrolled at a University of Minnesota system campus who are eligible for student employment (e.g., undergraduate or graduate employment programs) are not eligible for employment in this job classification. Minnesota Statute limits the eligibility, number of hours and/or days worked in this job classification.
Responsibilities
Casual Nonexempt positions in the Institute for Global Studies provide support for various needs, including office and administration, communications, programming, community engagement, events, research, technology, and related activities. These positions take direction from center directors and program coordinators, and candidates must be able to complete assignments independently.
This posting does not constitute an announcement of open positions, but is used to establish a pool of applications should openings occur during academic year 2025/26 and summer 2026. Applications will not be acknowledged upon receipt and will be reviewed only when specific job openings occur. Appointments may be extended based on need, funding, and performance.
