Title: Project Contract Manager

Location - Urbandale, Iowa
Job Description
  • The project contract managersupports all activities associated with the development, implementationand administration of all contracts associated with the company's projectdevelopment. Job duties include the negotiation, peer review, coordinationwith the legal department, business unit review, document retention,contract notices and notice responses, contract execution memos, andreporting for contracts associated with the purchase of developmentalassets, equipment purchase and construction of projects and otherassociated project contracts associated with generation additions andupgrades, electric vehicle infrastructure, energy storage,decommissioning, environmental, communications, facilities, assetacquisitions, new technology and other projects as assigned.
  • Provides support forinternally and externally with parties to ensure projects meet therequired internal revenue service requirements such as prevailing wage andapprenticeship requirements qualify projects the production tax credits.Where applicable, qualifying projects for low-income communities, domesticcontent and/or the energy community bonus credit. The project contractmanager shall work with the external third-party service provider toreview and approve of any submitted documentation to meet the aboverequirements for each applicable project.
  • Provides support for ProjectDevelopment during the request for information and request for proposalprocesses including the drafting of proposal documentation, clarification,communication with vendors and provision of evaluation summaries. Providessupport for activities relating to contract negotiations and contractdevelopment, including vendor due diligence, negotiation, contractdrafting, document control and counterparty communications. Performreviews of draft contracts, prepare commercial terms, review and revisecontract formatting, assist suppliers/vendors by interpreting andcommunicating contract language to ensure compliance. Prepares, reviewsand revises contracts, scope changes and amendments, as well as acts as aliaison between legal, procurement, other business units and thesupplier/vendor in the execution of contracts. Ensure proper commercialterms are implemented according to business practices and procurementpolicies.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports all activitiesassociated with the development, implementation and administration of allcontracts associated with the company's project development. Job dutiesinclude the negotiation, peer review, coordination with the legaldepartment, business unit review, document retention, contract notices andnotice responses, and reporting for contracts associated with the purchaseof developmental assets, equipment purchase and construction of projectsand other associated project contracts associated with generationadditions and upgrades, electric vehicle infrastructure, energy storage,decommissioning, environmental, communications, facilities, assetacquisitions, new technology, and other projects as assigned across thestate of Iowa and the company's service territory. Coordinates withinternal and external resources in the completion and execution of theproject contracts
  • Perform reviews of draftcontracts, prepare commercial terms, review and revise contractformatting, assist suppliers/vendors by interpreting and communicatingcontract language to ensure compliance

  • Bachelor's degree inengineering, finance, accounting, business or related field or equivalentwork experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive workexperience would be needed for candidates applying for this position whodo not possess a bachelor's degree for the Associate Project ContractManager position; eight years for the Project Contract Manager positionand ten years for the Senior Project Contract Manager position.)
  • Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills is required, and presentation skills are preferred.
  • Effective interpersonalskills and leadership abilities.
  • Effective analytical,problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize andhandle multiple issues, tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Ability to traveloccasionally (typically 10% travel).
