Job Description:
The NDT Engineering Technician performs non-destructive tests on various materials and products. They set-up and maintain equipment and assure calibration for tests to be performed. They conduct inspections of materials, parts, and assemblies using automated and manual methods and techniques. They interpret, evaluate, and report test results of specific products.
Essential Functions:
  • Works on non-destructive testing assignments of routine nature and limited complexity following established and well-known procedures where limited judgment is required
  • Assists higher level NDT Technicians by performing standard non-destructive testing inspections on components parts and assemblies
  • Assists in setting up and calibrating equipment under the direct observation of higher level NDT Technicians
  • Assists in preparing components for non-destructive testing inspection utilizing available equipment and processes under the direct observation of higher level technician(s)
  • Maintains a neat and clean work area
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to acquire security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Knowledge of Applicable laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations
  • Knowledge of the Techniques, tools, and equipment used in the inspection process
  • Knowledge of Non-destructive testing methods
  • Basic arithmetic, algebra, and physics principles and operations to solve problems
  • Ability to interpret Engineering specifications, drawings, blueprints, production plans, and/or work instructions
