Full Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Required to operate 26' and 28' straight trucks in a safe and professional manner at all times
  • Delivers products to customers on time, while providing complete customer service
  • Ensures route material is loaded and organized properly
  • Transfers materials and items from truck to dock area or other designated area by hand, hand truck, manual pallet jack, or electric pallet jack
  • Provides, completes and retains customer paperwork to include OS&D
  • Serves as client representative communicating feedback to branch leadership
  • Backhauls as required
  • Maintains DOT logs daily and complies with all other DOT procedures/regulations
  • Conducts Pre-trip and Post-trip inspections of truck and associated equipment in compliance with DOT regulation
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in commercial transportation or a graduate of an accredited truck driving school
  • Possess knowledge of all applicable State and Federal DOT regulations
  • Capacity to read and correctly interpret route manifests and invoices
  • Ability and willingness to work varying routes and required overtime as assigned by Supervisor
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation (occasionally 60-75 lbs.)
  • Previous experience with an Automatic On-Board Recording Device (AOBRDs) such as OMNI Trax is preferred
