Job description

Job Title: Senior IT Solutions Architect (Public Safety & Enterprise Integration)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Solutions Architect to bridge the gap between high-level system strategy and hands-on application delivery. In this role, you will partner with the Lead System Architect to design, model, and implement robust software solutions that support critical public safety and information-sharing infrastructure. You will be responsible for defining project scope, conducting technical feasibility studies, and ensuring all designs conform to rigorous security and organizational standards. The ideal candidate is a master of enterprise integration patterns who can lead cross-functional workshops and mentor development teams through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
• Solution Architecture & Design: Identify and analyze functional and non-functional requirements. Develop comprehensive design documentation, architectural diagrams, and technical artifacts using frameworks such as C4, 4+1, or TOGAF.
• Enterprise Integration: Define system integration points and document data exchange requirements for external agencies and vendors. Develop schemas, data formats, and interface control documentation (ICD) for high-security data exchanges.
• Technical Leadership: Collaborate with application development teams to establish project structures. Participate in code reviews to ensure alignment with design guidelines and business needs, specifically within C# and .NET Core environments.
• Risk & Governance: Identify technical risks and document tradeoffs for proposed solutions. Ensure all architectures maintain compliance with industry-standard security policies and best practices for information processing.
• Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops and steering committee meetings to review progress, refine requirements, and present implementation options to executive leadership and external user groups.
• Research & Innovation: Research emerging technologies, architectural strategies, and information-sharing standards to ensure the enterprise architecture maintains alignment with industry best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Technical Experience:
• Extensive background in software development and design using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Hands-on experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and REST/SOAP web services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio or similar modeling tools.
• Systems Integration: * Proven experience integrating complex information systems and developing OpenAPI/WSDL specifications.
• Expertise in XML/XSLT, JSON, and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) frameworks.
• Database & DevOps:
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, ETL processes (SSIS), and diverse database technologies (relational, document, graph).
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git source control.
• Skills: Ability to work independently with limited supervision; strong capability in leading technical meetings and documenting complex business processes.
Preferred Credentials
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, and Entity Framework.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices for securing applications and services.
• Experience in Public Safety or Government information-sharing environments.
