Job description

Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist (Travel Assignment)

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Nights (8:00 PM โ€“ 6:30 AM) | 7 On / 7 Off Schedule


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a 26-week travel assignment at a pediatric-focused acute care facility and Level II trauma center. This role begins on a night shift schedule and will transition to day shifts later in the assignment to provide extended coverage.


Position Details
  • 7 On / 7 Off block schedule
  • Night shift initially, with transition to day shift expected
  • Assignment extends to support coverage through early 2027
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • No floating between units
  • 48-hour work schedules are not approved

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
  • Prepare and dispense medications safely in an inpatient setting
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Monitor patient medication therapy and outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation

Requirements
  • Active Texas Pharmacist License required
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Prior inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills required
