Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Orthopedic Unit position requiring at least 1 year of acute care ortho experience and an active CO or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Located in the main hospital building on a 30-bed Orthopedic unit (Floor 7, NW Tower),
• Patient population includes elective orthopedic and ortho trauma patients,
• Patient ratio is 1:5 or 1:6,
• Unit staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 PCTs,
• Equipment used includes CPM (continuous passive motion) machines, nerve block pumps, and On-Q pain management systems,
• EMR system is Meditech (experience preferred),
• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• 13-week contract,
Job Requirements
• Active CO or compact RN license required,
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start),
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Ortho RN in an acute care hospital setting,
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months,
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration,
• One professional reference required,
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible,
Additional Information
• Typical procedures include IV starts, Foley/straight catheterization, CPM application, and early patient mobilization,
• Med/Surg experience and ACLS certification are preferred,
• Meditech EMR experience is preferred,
• The unit is known for strong teamwork and a dedicated nursing team focused on patient experience and quality outcomes,
