About the Job

Cityside Fiber is seeking a motivated NOC Operator to join our Network Operations Center team. This role is responsible for ensuring continuous network operation and optimal performance and plays a key part in maintaining SLA compliance and incident response. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues using network management tools.
  • Respond to alarms, alerts, and incidents promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal network performance.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot network-related incidents and outages.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues and escalate problems as needed.
  • Document incident details, resolutions, and post-incident reports for continuous improvement.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including software upgrades and configuration changes, during maintenance windows.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to implement changes in the network infrastructure.
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to provide updates on incidents and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NOC tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a Network Operations Center or similar environment.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and network architectures.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent (preferred)
