Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

FLSA Status & EEO Code: Non-Exempt/Operatives

Division/Department: GHM/Supply Chain

Level of Work: Level I


Position Summary:


The Warehouse/Yard Attendant is responsible for the loading and unloading of all incoming and outgoing materials. They are responsible for internal departmental material movements on-site and the receipt of material and material movement within the warehouse. The Warehouse/Yard Attendant accomplishes this through effectively managing computer systems in accordance with the organization's policies and effective and safe usage of all material handling equipment. Responsible for accurate input and system data maintenance. They support annual physical inventory. Reports directly to Warehouse Supervisor or his/her designate.


Key Results Areas by level of work:

Level I: Quality – Complete and accurate work performed efficiently

  • Production quality and efficiency using appropriate tools and equipment, qualified to perform special processes as needed.
  • Ensures material paperwork in accordance with the organization's policies.
  • Successfully operates electric and gas powered forklifts in a safe efficient manner
  • Proficient in operation of all material handling equipment.
  • Responsible for accuracy regarding cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Ability to backfill day to day transactions and inquiries involving the inventory analyst position.

Follow instructions – oral and/or written

  • Can properly read all work instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or his/her designate.

Safety & housekeeping

  • Maintains a clean work area with no clutter.
  • Maintain outside yard areas and warehouse by cleaning where needed.
  • Practices safety at all times while at work.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures and speaks up when others are non-compliant.
  • Wears all safety equipment for area of work.

To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.

Education and Training

  • High school GED

Experience:

  • 2 years of on the job experience in lieu of formal education.

Other:

  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Local travel may be required.
