The Recreation Leader for Teen Programs is an exciting position that will encompass a variety of programs and services, including after-school drop-in programming, leadership and skill development, art, and more serving Redmond area teens.
Hours: This is a supplemental, variable, year-round position, and will work approximately 10-25 hours per week. Hours may vary based on class offerings and enrollment. Currently, hours are available for shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings between 3:30pm - 8pm, and Fridays from 3:30pm - 6pm. Some weekend work may be required. The position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week on average and no more than 1,040 hours per year.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Recreation Leaders are thoughtful, compassionate, and independent thinking team members that are safety-oriented and like share their passion for Recreation. Selected candidates will join a dedicated, hard-working team that is very supportive, creative, and has fun serving youth and teens.

  • Recreation Leaders support after-school programming that includes life skills programming, games, academic support, sports and fitness, nature, and leadership opportunities for youth and teens.

  • Recreation Leaders support youth and teen art and music interests by providing opportunities for them to participate, develop, and share their skills.

  • Recreation Leaders inspire teens to create the programming they want to see, and guide teens through the planning, organizational, and program delivery process.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 16 years of age by starting date
  • Education or training in recreation area directly related to specific position or program
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred
  • Successful passing of a required background check

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid WA State Driver's license required. Accommodations for lack of driver's license may be considered depending on the assignment or circumstances.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Some positions may require special licenses, certifications or training
