Duration: 13 Weeks – Potential Extension

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support sterile processing and surgical services operations. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience in sterile processing, instrument decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform sterile processing activities in accordance with established infection prevention and safety standards.
  • Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare instrument trays and surgical supplies for procedures.
  • Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment according to established procedures.
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper condition.
  • Maintain accurate records related to sterilization and instrument processing.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sterile processing environment.
  • Collaborate with surgical services and other clinical teams to ensure instruments and supplies are available when needed.
Requirements
  • 3 years of recent Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience within the past 5 years.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current Sterile Processing Technician certification.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile processing, decontamination, sterilization, and surgical instrumentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
