Description

SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Tester to join our S3I team in Huntsville, AL.

SAIC is supporting the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) in continuation of the Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) sustainment and development.  AMPS is an automated mission planning/battle synchronization tool that automates aviation mission planning tasks. The system will also provide the means to generate mission data for use in either hard copy or electronic formats.  The S3I team is supporting software sustainment for fielded AMPS systems.  A Junior Software Tester is needed to support AMPS as part of the complete software lifecycle development and sustainment activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Testing activities include writing test plans, executing tests, regression testing, performance testing, integration testing
  • Provide ongoing production support for the system, including troubleshooting technology issues 
  • Review of requirements and existing test cases
  • Preparation of test plans
  • Execution of tests (system integration tests, regression tests, performance tests)
  • Defects reporting
  • Write test cases and scripts and identifies data for test scenarios
  • Performs testing of software to ensure it is free of defects and meets customer business needs
  • Verify that all testing documentation is complete and (plans, scripts/cases, pass/fail results) has been stored in the designated location
  • Performing and updating test cases
  • Preparing the test environment
  • Support for user acceptance tests

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other computer-related field and zero (0) years’ experience; Additional six (6) years’ relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; Active Secret clearance preferred. US Citizenship required

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of batch and PowerShell, knowledge of databases (SQL / Oracle), VBA
  • Excellent communication skills with good work attitude
  • Ability to effectively use test case management and defect tracking tools
  • 2-3 years of experience on IT projects preferred
