We are looking for a Software Developer to join a healthcare-focused team in San Antonio, Texas. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a full stack candidate who brings strong experience with .NET technologies, front-end web development, and database-driven applications. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and ongoing support of business-critical systems while partnering with users and internal teams to deliver reliable technical solutions.


Responsibilities:

• Design, build, enhance, and maintain full stack applications with a strong emphasis on .NET development, user interface design, and database integration.

• Investigate application issues, perform in-depth troubleshooting, and resolve complex defects to improve system stability and performance.

• Participate in technical analysis, solution design, and project planning to support successful delivery of assigned development initiatives.

• Create, test, and validate code changes while ensuring solutions meet quality standards, functional expectations, and operational requirements.

• Collaborate with business users and internal stakeholders to understand needs, recommend practical solutions, and provide guidance on system-related concerns.

• Communicate progress, risks, and issue resolution updates to leadership and project teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• Support production applications by assisting with scheduling validation, documenting enhancements, and participating in on-call coverage as needed.

• Prepare clear technical documentation for new development, system updates, testing outcomes, and change control activities.

• Provide knowledge sharing, training, and day-to-day support to information systems staff and other team members when needed.

• At least 2 years of recent software development experience in a full stack or application development environment.
• Hands-on experience with VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, and Visual Studio in building and supporting web-based applications.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including Management Studio, SSIS, and SSRS.
• Familiarity with front-end and web technologies such as Ajax, XML, and API development.
• Experience using development and project tools such as GitHub, Atlassian Jira, and Agile Scrum practices.
• Demonstrated strength in debugging, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving.
• Ability to communicate clearly, document technical work effectively, and collaborate with both technical teams and business users.
• Exposure to healthcare data standards such as X12 834, 837, 275, or 278 is a plus.
