St. Coleman Catholic School in Pompano Beach, Florida, seeks a qualified and experienced full-time School Counselor for the current school year to assist the first school counselor in collaborating with the administration, faculty, staff, and parents to address the students' needs. The School Counselor performs the duties and responsibilities of a counselor in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Archdiocese of Miami and St. Anthony Catholic School.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Family Counseling preferred.
  • FDOE certification in Guidance Counseling.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies including iPad and Google Workspace.
  • Proficiency using digital student information systems.
  • Ability to effectively make decisions, in collaboration with the school administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively daily.
  • Ability to work with varying grade levels of students, creating activities that are helpful for all.
  • Participate in reflective, self-directed, on-going professional development.
  • Confidential approach towards information learned in this position.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, school assemblies, and special events.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Supportive and respectful of the missions and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Knowledge of basic tenets of the Catholic Church.
  • Must have a professional demeanor.
