Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR Scrub RN for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Job Description & Requirements

OR Scrub Nurse - Council Bluffs, Iowa

  • Shifts & Scheduling: 4, 10-hour shifts from 0700-1730- may need to come in at 0630 based on case needs.
  • No to self-scheduling, I will make schedule based on needs.
  • # of suites 9. # of cases per day 10-30.
  • Required Certifications: BLS.
  • Common Cases: General, GYN, Ortho, Urology, ECTs, pain blocks, & ENT with small amounts of vascular, neuro, & head and neck.
  • Experience with above cases.
  • Is scrubbing required for RNs? To assist for call, yes.

Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Manager/Charge nurse always on shift- charge nurse may take assignments/give lunches just as manager may- dependent on staffing.

OR techs? We have two surgical aids that clean rooms and transfer patients.

  • EMR Yes, Cerner.
  • Weeknight/Call Requirements 6 call days a schedule period (4 week) with weeknight/weekend call requirements.
  • Holiday/Call Requirements If holidays fall within contract- holiday call may be issued.
  • What is call response time? 30 minutes.

Floating Requirements N/A – circulator does sit in PACU while patient recovers to support if/when needed.

Scrub Color/Dress Code Facility supplies scrubs- OR attire policy: No nail polish for scrubbed personnel, no earrings other than studs (unless ears are covered), and no necklaces/jewelry.

How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 1 Week.
