About the role:

Middletown, CA

We are looking for an experienced Power Plant Operator to support operations in Middletown, CA facility. You will oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems while supporting startup, shutdown, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and operate power generation equipment from both the control room and field.
  • Perform plant startups, shutdowns, and system alignments following operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections, rounds, and equipment monitoring to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Record operating data, equipment readings, and plant performance metrics.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support maintenance activities, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and equipment isolation.
  • Respond to plant upsets, alarms, and emergency situations.
  • Operate auxiliary systems including pumps, compressors, cooling water systems, and water treatment equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and operating regulations.
  • Produce work requests and document equipment deficiencies using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo.
  • Work with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and plant management to optimize plant performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of power plant operations experience preferred.
  • Experience operating utility-scale power generation facilities, including geothermal, combined cycle, cogeneration, gas-fired, or steam generation plants.
  • Knowledge of plant operating procedures, safety protocols, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with DCS, SCADA, or distributed control systems.
  • Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Work rotating shifts and respond to call-outs as needed.
