Position Summary Information
Position Title Adjunct Instructor, American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor (Continuing Education Division) (Continuous Posting) Employment Category Adjunct Contract Length N/A Expected Work Schedule Variable Anticipated Days Any day of the week, may be asked for some Saturday and/or Sunday work Anticipated Hours Predominantly evenings, but also may include daytime hours Anticipated Hours per Week variable Job Description Summary
Assist with teaching in the Continuing Education EMS program. To lead or assist in AHA courses in one or more of the following:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support PALS)
  • Heartsaver Courses
Duties
Duties will include the set up and break down of classrooms, proper use of equipment, current knowledge of AHA standards. Also will need to know how to manage college paperwork and schedules. Classes may be located on campus or out in the community.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Must have a minimum of one of the following current (unexpired) AHA Instructor certifications :
    • BCLS Instructor
    • ACLS Instructor
    • PALS Instructor
  2. Experience teaching high school age or adult learners.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Level 1 or 2 NC EMS Instructor. Experience as an instructor thru EMS, AHA, or ARC.;
  2. Associates Degree or higher.

Failure to comply may result in revocation of the job offer.
