What is a typical work schedule like for entry-level workers with no prior experience on offshore oil rigs?

No experience offshore oil rig workers usually work in rotating shifts, commonly consisting of two or three weeks on the rig followed by two or three weeks off. While on duty, you can expect to work 12-hour shifts that include both day and night rotations, often in a physically demanding environment with limited personal time. You’ll live and work on the rig with your crew throughout your rotation, sharing meals and accommodations, which fosters strong team dynamics. This schedule allows workers to balance periods of intense work with extended time off, which is unique to the offshore oil industry.

Workers must be physically fit, able to work long shifts, and follow safety protocols closely. Many companies offer training programs to help new hires gain the necessary skills and certifications.
