CT / Radiology Technologist – PRN Weekend Night Shift

Department: Diagnostic Imaging
Status: PRN (As Needed)
Schedule:

  • Friday and/or Saturday Nights
  • 8:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
  • Flexible PRN scheduling: work one or both nights, occasional or multiple weekends per month

Location: Pagosa Springs Medical Center – Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Reports To: Supervisor – Diagnostic Imaging
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Position Summary

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) is seeking a skilled CT / Radiology Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team in a PRN weekend night shift role.

This position performs CT and general radiologic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing diseases and injuries. The technologist is responsible for performing high-quality imaging exams, administering contrast when appropriate, monitoring patient safety, and collaborating with radiologists and healthcare teams to deliver excellent patient care.

The ideal candidate is a confident technologist who can work independently during night shifts while maintaining strong patient care and imaging quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnostic Imaging
  • Perform CT scans and radiographic imaging exams following physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and imaging technique to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Evaluate images for technical quality before submission to the radiologist
  • Perform CT image acquisition and reformatting as required
Patient Care
  • Assess patients prior to imaging procedures
  • Prepare patients for imaging exams and explain procedures
  • Initiate IV access and administer contrast agents according to protocol
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond to adverse reactions
Safety & Quality
  • Follow radiation safety and infection prevention standards
  • Utilize National Patient Safety Goals in patient care
  • Perform equipment quality control checks and troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
Team Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, providers, and clinical staff
  • Assist with procedures such as biopsies or provider-performed exams when required
  • Support interdisciplinary patient care coordination

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an approved ARRT Radiologic Technology program
Experience
  • CT experience required
  • Hospital or clinical imaging experience preferred
Licensure & Certifications
  • ARRT certification in Radiography required
  • CT registry (ARRT CT) required or ability to obtain
  • Current AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers
Skills
  • Strong CT and radiographic imaging skills
  • Ability to work independently during overnight shifts

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Compensation Range: $33.25 - $51.40 hourly, based on years of relevant experience ranging from 0 to 22 years of experience.  
  • Night Shift Differential: Employees in this position receive night shift differential pay of an additional $5.00 per hour. 
  • PRN Differential: PRN employees in this position receive a PRN differential of an additional $5.00 per hour. 
  • Benefits: PRN benefits include sick leave and retirement plan with employer contribution.
