About the Role:
Summary/Objective
The Machine Operator is responsible for the successful learning, operation, and basic preventative maintenance of assigned production equipment. This role is key to maintaining efficient production processes, ensuring quality output, assisting in the training of new employees, and supporting all other production area needs.
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the complete lifecycle of assigned production equipment, including start-up, operation, change over, shut down, and routine preventative maintenance as prescribed by P.M. charts.
  • Operate and monitor multiple processes on high-speed automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform essential manual tasks such as loading and supplying production line items, reworking product, and loading conveyors.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, strictly adhering to prescribed safety regulations.
  • Ensure all required production and maintenance documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for producing quality finished goods, proactively identifying, and eliminating non-conforming product.
  • Receive and be responsive to frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up and operations.
  • Complete all required tasks related to the effective and efficient operation of the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Strictly adhere to company policies, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Employee may be exposed to powdered raw materials that may have commonly recognized allergens.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Lifting/Moving: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday. We have two shifts: 1st Shift is 6am-2:30p and 2nd shift is 2:30p-11:00p
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  1. Minimum of 1 year of food/dietary supplement manufacturing experience.
  2. Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness.

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Prior experience specifically as a Machine Operator.
