These roles are designed for beginners, recent graduates, or career changers who want to start a career in software development using Java. Employers typically expect candidates to have a basic understanding of Java concepts—often gained through coursework, self-study, or coding bootcamps—rather than real-world job experience. These jobs may include titles like Junior Java Developer, Java Intern, or Trainee Java Programmer, and often provide on-the-job training to help new hires build their skills.

What can I expect during the onboarding process for a no experience Java developer?

Many companies pair new developers with a mentor or buddy to help you get comfortable with both the codebase and the team culture. Expect to start with smaller, well-defined tasks before gradually moving on to more complex assignments as you build confidence and skills.
