SUMMARY:
Our Purpose is, "As the Cradle of American Golf, we honor timeless traditions and inspire legendary stories, one smile, one round, one moment at a time." The primary purpose of this position is to assist in managing the operation of Pinehurst Sandmines at Course No. 10. The individual will have a strong working relationship with all other golf operation teams across multiple Resort properties. The individual will work closely with Golf Course Maintenance, Transportation, Food and Beverage, Retail, Sales and Reservations to create a memorable experience for all guests visiting the property. The main focus of this position will be creating an elite golf experience for guests while consistently living Pinehurst's core values; Genuine Hospitality, Be Trustworthy, Good Stewards and Inspired Innovation.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferred and a minimum of two years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be currently involved or in the process of acquiring PGA credentials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in managing and supervising the daily operation of the following areas; Golf Registration; Starter / Pace of Play Teams, Guest Arrival / Departure, Golf Bag / Guest Transportation.
  • Daily assistance in managing tee sheet and coordinating with caddie services based on group requirements.
  • Involved in monitoring and assisting the Pace of Play Team, strong knowledge of TagMarshal and TekGPS.
  • Interface with guests, employees and caddies daily.
  • Daily assessment of retail space, replenishing floor with product, reporting needs / shortages in product.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of in-house systems and platforms such as Agilysys Golf, Golf Genius, Beekeeper, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ensure any guest issues and concerns are promptly brought to attention and handled accordingly.
  • Work closely with Tee Time Office to ensure appropriate daily communication and coordination between all components of the operation. (Tee Time Office, Golf Group Services, and Golf Shop Registration)
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional as directed, perform other job duties as assigned.
  • Maintain and/or continue development towards PGA certification / continuing education.
  • Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment. Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings, must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing all tasks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The individual is responsible for assisting with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of specified Employees within the Pinehurst No. 10 Golf Operation. Responsibilities include training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
STRATEGIC THIINKING:
Work with Head Golf Professional to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals.
TEAMWORK:
Balance team and individual responsibilities; Exhibit objectivity and openness to team members' views; Provide and welcome feedback from peers; Contribute to building a positive team spirit, build morale and group commitment to goals and objectives; Support team members' effort to succeed.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
