The Protégé Agency Producer Program is designed to provide potential entrepreneurs an opportunity to grow their skills and business knowledge to potentially become a Farmers agency owner in the future while working for an existing Farmers agency owner.

This position is designed to provide individuals an opportunity to grow their skills and business knowledge to become a Farmers® agency owner while working for an existing Farmers agency owner. The Protégé Agency Producer can learn from an experienced industry professional as well as have access to the award-winning University of Farmers® training program that is designed to help enhance their knowledge and introduce them to tools that may help them grow as business owners should he or she one day own their own Farmers® agency. When a Protégé Agency Producer meets all applicable eligibility requirements, they will have the opportunity to become an agency owner through the Seed program, or Acquisition program if such an opportunity is available.

OPPORUNITY FOR AGENCY OWNERSHIP:

A Protégé Agency Producer seeking an appointment as a Farmers agency owner must meet the following minimum criteria to be eligible for appointment consideration:

• Achieve $100,000 in New Business Gross Folio Premium (GFP) within 12 months
• Successfully complete the University of Farmers® Protégé Agency Producer training program.
• Demonstrate that the requisite New Business Gross Folio Premium is self-generated.
• Pass an agency owner candidate background check in accordance with Farmers guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Interview panel with Farmers® Insurance representatives

Prior to being appointed as a Protégé Agency Producer, a candidate must obtain, at a minimum, property and casualty and life and health licenses. When a candidate’s background check is approved, the property, casualty, life, and health classes will be provided to the candidate through Exam FX® at no cost ($450 retail).

COMPENSATION:

Base salary plus commissions and/or bonuses.

Any working arrangements, including, but not limited to, compensation, daily duties, incentives, bonuses, etc., are strictly between the Protégé Agency Producer and the participating Farmers agency owner electing to engage them.

Job Requirements

As a Farmers Insurance Agent, you must have strong organizational and time-management skills as well as exceptional interpersonal communication abilities. We are seeking individuals from any background who are willing to work hard and commit themselves to the success of this business opportunity; however, experience in sales, marketing and/or customer service is greatly beneficial.

Additional requirements of the Farmers Insurance Agent include:

• Good credit history – no chapter 7,11 or 13 bankruptcies within the last 12 months.
• Favorable criminal record
• Favorable driving record

Responsibilities:

• Develop insurance quotes, advise clients.
• Meet new business growth goals and objectives as established.
• Call prospective customers by operating telephones, automatic dialing systems, and other internet technologies.
• Grow client base by utilizing phone, email, potential client list & existing client referrals.
• Manage and inspire staff (qualify to become a mentor & receive additional bonuses)
